Did you know that every zebra is unique?
Their stripes are as distinct as our fingerprints. When there can only be one of you why blend in to be someone you’re not? It’s easy to be critical of ourselves when we stand in the shadows of others.
I’m always my worst critic when it comes to my art. It’s hard to break free of the perfectionism and it only gets worse when I start to compare my own work to other great artists’ works.
Although other artists’ works are great, I don’t want my art to look just like theirs. Every work of art is unique because every artist is unique. The goal for my art is to stand out. I want people to pick out my art in a gallery and say, “That is a Taylor Varron Art original.”
So let this inspire you to be your own original self. You were born to stand out. Be like a zebra and be unique. Be different. Stay true to yourself and be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished thus far.
